Notice About Modded Lobbies Bans & Tips

Post by Admin Graves on Fri May 22, 2015 7:14 pm

Unfortunately it appears that Xbox LIVE has stepped up their security and have started to ban people. In this post, I will talk about the bans and tips to avoid bans.

RECOVERIES

A recovery is any lobby that requires the modder to acquire your account information and download your profile onto their modified console.

Bans:
From what I have noticed, almost every person who has received a recovery service gets suspended from Xbox LIVE.
The suspension is usually 2 weeks.
The suspension doesn't usually occur right after the recovery. It may be a few days before you are suspended.
Tips:
Wait it out. Don't go on the Xbox Forums begging to be unsuspended because it won't do anything. All they will do is tell you why you were banned and tell you the ban will stay as given.
Make a second temporary account and either play GTA V with no money and play like normal or play some other games (like Minecraft, Call of Duty, Gears of War, ect).
Unlink your Social Club! It will prevent anyone from viewing your GTA Online information and seeing you have modified money, so they can't report you to Rockstar Games for having it. The downsides to unlinking is you will no longer be able to buy the Elegy and you can no longer be in a Crew.
IN-GAME MONEY LOBBIES

An in-game money lobby is when a player is invited/joins an already active online game and the modder drops money beneath the player.

Bans:
Bans can be prevented but are not 100% preventable.
Xbox LIVE has started to suspend players for 2 weeks.
Rockstar Games has also started suspending some players for 2 weeks and resetting their money.

Tips:
If the host has a gamertag in the original post, message him for an invite saying you are from 4inarow or follow the instructions in their post to join his session. Do not post your gamertag in the thread. This prevents Xbox LIVE from seeing your gamertag posted on the public forums here.
If the host does not have his gamertag and requires you to post your gamertag then wait until the user says he is online in his post/the post is open. Post your gamertag as a reply and wait for an invite.

As soon as you get into the lobby, you might want to get your gamertag removed from your reply on that modded lobby thread. Here's two ways to do that:
If the thread is still open, you can edit your post by clicking the "Edit" button located at the bottom of your reply. Once you click edit, you can remove your gamertag and save changes.
If the thread is locked, you can report your post by clicking the "Report" button located at the bottom of your reply. Once you click report, type in that you want your gamertag removed and a staff member will either delete your reply or edit your gamertag out.
Just because your gamertag is removed from the forum does not guarantee you that you won't be suspended. There is still a chance that an Xbox LIVE spy on this website saw your gamertag before you had it removed. Also it doesn't guarantee that Rockstar Games won't notice a rapid increase in money on your account and won't suspend you on their end.
Unlink your Social Club! It will prevent anyone from viewing your GTA Online information and seeing you have modified money, so they can't report you to Rockstar Games for having it. The downsides to unlinking is you will no longer be able to buy the Elegy and you can no longer be in a Crew.
Please note that these tips won't guarantee that you won't be suspended. However it can cut down your chances of being suspended.

Thank You,
Bluetooth
